Gareth started work in the co-op when he was only 15. Still at school he'd go in at nights and weekends stacking shelves. When he left the school, they offered him a full time position and thinking(it'l do just now) he took the job and went on to have 10 yrs service with the company. Gareth went from strength to strength working his way up the retail ladder to eventually becoming a Manager with co-op. After serving his 10 yrs he couldn't see it having any more challenges or benefits to him so he looked for another job. Gareth applied to the Police force and Aldi that was his first two apps and after the initial interview for both he got both jobs!!!!!! After much thought Gareth decided he was still young only 25 at the time, and so declined the police training and job and went to work for Aldi. Although being a manager with the co-op he went to Aldi as Store Assistant Manager. He first worked in the Stirling Store with David McKendry being his manager,and later to become really good friends. Again Gareth being Gareth soared through the work and was tryig to climb that ladder one more time. Success came on the 10th Aug 2007, the day before our wedding, when James Hutchison offered him Store Manager of the Linlithgow Store! It couldn't have came at a more happier time in our lifes and we always says its a wedding present from Aldi.... Gareth worked hard to make the store better than it was and succeeded after only 13 mths and again promotion came along. Although the position was the same it was a much bigger and more challenging store it was Bathgate, right next to head office.......... Gareth had a lot of friends whom he met through his work and thought a lot of all his staff ............xx
